Muesli is a whole grain cold cereal with nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. Traditionally it is served with milk or cream, but we’ve added a whole granny smith apple and yogurt to this recipe instead, giving it an extra nutritional punch! You can add in anything else that you would like, such as sweeteners or berries! You can purchase muesli pre-mixed at most grocery stores, but it is also very easy to make yourself, and customizable to your liking, allergies, or dietary restrictions.

This recipe makes 1 serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 Granny Smith apple (cored and shredded, peel and all)
  • ½ c. of plain yogurt
  • ¼ c. Muesli cereal
  • Dash of cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tbsp. pure maple syrup (optional)

Directions

  1. Shred your apple with a box grater or food processor discarding the core.

  2. Add the shredded apple to a small bowl.  Add in the yogurt and muesli cereal and mix well.  Add in your maple syrup and give in another stir then top with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Transfer the mixture to a storage container with lid and place in the fridge overnight.
