Happy Farm Friday!
This week, Joyfully Grown grower and Export Sales Manager, Bryan Peebles, is here to show the beginning stages of cherry development. Our growers are consistently in the orchards making sure that every piece of fruit is being protected, cared for, and having its needs met according to the development stage it’s in. Shoutout to Bryan and all growers working hard to bring a delicious, high-quality 2023 cherry crop to people around the world!

My name is Brian Peebles and I am a part of Joyfully Grown. One of the things that you’re going to hear us talk about over the next few weeks are the different stages of bud development before it blooms and then before we get apples and cherries. For years a lot of us have used what we would commonly say is just our sheet in our pocket which gives us the dip nine different stages of Bloom and post Bloom and then helps us understand the temperatures that would cause damage potentially to a cherry or apple bud. I’m in the middle of a early Robin Orchard which is a yellow cherry. We are at probably stage one to stage two of Bud Development, which means we’re going to have some bloom here hopefully in the next month. You guys can see some buds there on the trees and they’re coming along really nicely. Just in a few months, we’ll have some wonderful yellow cherries to be able to ship all over the United States and all over the world
